Personal and Unique.

There is no doubt that a social media presence is essential to connecting with your clients and potential customers. Your social media branding can have a big impact on how much value you are able to deliver to your audience. Having a personable and unique voice is vitally important to creating a relationship with your clients. Your unique voice connects you with your clients, creates brand loyalty, and by extension, repeat business. So, how do you identify your brand’s voice? Here are some steps that will determine what your brand says while making your brand personal and unique.

Know who you are:

In order to identify your brand’s voice, you first have to know who is speaking. The branding process is one of self-discovery. What motivates your brand at the deepest levels? What are its most cherished values? What is its favorite color? Defining your brand as you would a person is an effective way to discover both the profound truths and subtle quirks that make it unique and authentic.

Know who you are talking to:

Once you know who you are as a brand, it is critical that you further refine your voice by getting to know your audience. Authentic brands maximize the impact of their messaging. When you identify what your ideal clients’ needs are, you craft your messaging and what you provide based on their needs. Then your brand becomes a natural topic of conversation amongst your clients because of the impact of your messaging and what you provide. A functional customer persona should answer questions like:

  • What is your ideal customer’s gender?
  • How old are they?
  • What industry do they work in?
  • What are their motivations?

By digging into your brand’s personality and ideal client, you establish the ways to express your messaging. Then you are more likely to resonate as a real human being that your audience can relate to or aspire to be like.

Create a brand guide:

Creating a brand guide will help you identify with your clients. It lets them know who you are just by your colors, messaging, and style. Also, your guide will help your team members to know your brand’s voice and how to use it correctly. A style guide will help them maintain consistency in all areas of style and messaging.

Your brand’s unique voice on social media is a key factor in making sure your valuable content connects with the people who need it most.
